D2A

This fall, Ethan has been able to take hip hop lessons at D2A (ie. Dream Dance Academy). Our church helps facilitate this program, which is a free outreach to the community. I could write an entire blog about how awesome our church is and its incredible heart for Federal Heights, the low-income neighborhood where it's located. Mark and I have loved getting back to "our roots", so to speak. We met and fell in love working and serving the inner city...and we have loved returning to this type of church.

Anyways, back to D2A. So many kids have found a loving family at our church and have been extremely blessed by the dance and music programs (since it is highly unlikely their families could afford lessons). It has been such a fun, cross-cultural experience for Ethan. He is definitely on the younger end in his class and it is a lot for him to try to coordinate his hands and feet at the same time. Usually he does great for about 15 minutes...then you might find him sitting on the floor, distracted by some other kid's toy or something. Still, his teachers are so patient with him and he loves to "dance".

Ethan's favorite move to the lyrics...
"Baby, baby, baby...OH!"

(When I first heard the music, I asked a teacher, "Whose the girl that sings this song?" The teacher just smiled, "Uh...Justin Bieber." Of course. So when your almost 32 years-old, is it more uncool to not know the song sung by Justin Bieber...or to know it? Hmm...)

Getting some moral support by one of our pastors

Maybe Ethan is the next "Vanilla Ice"? : )

Oh this is too cute!! Love that your church does this. Carter and Sydney both love to dance too, but have yet to learn hip hop! That would be too fun!

As a fellow 32 year old, it's definitely MORE cool to not recognize JB. Right? Please tell me I'm right...
