Family Reunion 2012

We finally got the pictures back from the Sims Family Reunion, so I can finally post them! We had gone to Oregon back in July to celebrate Oma's (Mark's grandmother's) 85th Birthday. It was such a special time of reconnecting with family members, many of whom had never met our kids. We are so thankful to have Oma in our life...she is really such a special lady. Despite the challenges of raising 6 kids all by herself, she is so full of joy and love. We were so grateful to Mark's parents, who paid for our plane tickets so that we could celebrate with everyone. Here are some pictures that just captured such a sweet time with family.

The party was a surprise...
and boy was she surprised!

How can you not adore her?!

Mark's sisters put together 85 years of memories, in which many family members and friends submitted special memories they had with Oma. The entire family watched silently as she read the memories aloud. Many brought laughter, many brought tears. It was an incredibly special time as Oma passed down stories from her past with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It was a night I hope our children never forget!

We love you, Oma!
Thanks for creating such a special family!
