We were then blessed with a visit from Gigi (A.K.A. "Grandma Gail" or "Mom"). There is something very reassuring about being with my mom. It is like this part inside of me that often feels an inkling of anxiety before the start of each day is suddenly at complete peace. No matter what happens during the day, Mom is here to help fix it. We tried to convince her to move in permanently, but she decided my Dad would miss her too much. I just feel blessed to have a mother who I would even WANT to stay and never leave. But all good things come to end and Gigi returned to San Diego. Ethan cried and cried when he realized his "Gigi" was not waiting to play ball with him downstairs after his nap. It was really pathetic, but I could understand his lament completely.

Ethan LOVED playing with Gigi. She even obeyed all of his self-proclaimed "rules" of the game. Gigi gets the green ball, he gets the blue. Gigi also had to wear the fireman hat. Anyone who can comply so patiently with a very particular two year-old is a saint.

Brooklyn also loved being held and loved on by Gigi.
