8 Months and Loving Life

Our sweet Brookie is now 8 months-old and how I wish I could make time freeze for a while. Here are some of her major accomplishments in life:

* Eating anything and everything (she seems to really like the taste of metal and crumbs from the floor...not that my floor EVER has crumbs on it. Ha!)

*She can climb the entire flight of stairs and is always on the prowl, waiting with meticulous precision for the moment someone accidentally forgets to lock the baby gate to race to the foot of the stairs and begin an impromptu ascent.

*She can stand for about 30 seconds on her own, holding onto nothing but sheer will and determination. Thankfully, she hasn't moved that first foot yet...we're hoping for at least another month.

*She waves, flirts, and sort of says "Dada", "Mama" and what sounds like a "Hi". Don't quote me on this, though, because Mark thinks I'm making this up.

*She is already into everything...my pots, pans, Tupperware, you name it, she wants it. For some reason I thought a girl would be less messy. Wrong again!

*She finally thinks sleep is a slightly better option than crying, so she is willing to be consoled with a pacifier at 3 a.m. rather than chow. We'll take what we can get around here.

She loves to stick out her tongue...

Most of the time, she is as happy as can be...

But we all have of our days!
