The coolest thing happened at our church this week and I just have to share it! Last Saturday night, while the children's ministry was performing their annual Christmas production in our church's sanctuary, someone came into the foyer and stole two large boxes of Christmas presents that the church had been collecting for needy families in our community. It was a real bummer, but our pastor responded with grace and forgiveness.
Well, CBS Denver got a hold of the story and broadcasted it on the evening news. Within 10 minutes, people from all over Denver started pouring in the doors with arms full of presents. Private donors contributed several thousand dollars and even the Denver Broncos are planning to help. When we arrived at church last night, the entire foyer was absolutely covered in toys. It will take days to wrap them all, but it will get done. Today our pastor is loading up a group of children and taking them to Macy's to pick out brand new shoes and winter coats with the donated money. It is incredible...what man planned for evil, the Lord has redeemed for good. So many kids in the community are going to be blessed by this outpouring of generosity!
